Malahide Community School Adult Education Covid-19 Guidelines for our Spring Programme 2022 

 

  • We will be following all guidelines as advised by NPHET and as advised by the Health Protection Centre and the HSE.
  • On each night of class, a designated Covid officer will be present. This person will ensure all necessary hygiene and other guidelines are adhered to in relation to Covid 19.
  • Class Times: 7.30 -9.30 unless stated otherwise
  • Course Duration: 10 weeks for most courses (some courses are more and less, see your particular course)
  • All enrollments must be made before entering the school to start your class.
  • Phone and online booking only. We cannot accept walk in enrollment
  • Classes are available to attend face to face in the school with the tutor. In the event of a local or national lockdown classes may move to online learning
  • Reduced Class Sizes: A maximum number of 12 students will be permitted in classrooms. Students are to keep 2 meters apart in regular classrooms and 1 meter in practical classes.
  • Tutors and students are required to wear face masks at all times.
  • All learners and tutors must remain in their allotted classroom at all times (this includes the break time). They must avoid mixing with students/tutors from other classes to ensure their class bubble remains intact,
  • Enrolment Night: there will not be a walk in enrolment session taking place prior to the commencement of term.
  • Hand Hygiene & Sanitisation: we will provide hand sanitisation stations which adults will have easy access to.  We request that adults bring their own supply of hygiene products including hand sanitisation for your own personal use. All classrooms and facilities used during adult education classes will be sanitised before and after class.
  • No sharing of equipment allowed and a physical distance of 1 meter must be kept at all times from fellow students and tutor.
  • Class Times: 7.30 -9.30 unless stated otherwise. Students are advised to arrive between 5 – 10 minutes before their class starts
  • Health Issue: anybody with a serious underlying health issue should not attend the school for classes.  
  • Symptoms of Covid 19: any adult student or staff member who is ill or displaying symptoms of Covid-19 should not attend the school for classes.
  • Students are required to complete and sign a self – declaration form regarding their wellness for their class.
  • Teas: Tea or coffee will not be available. Learners and tutors will have to bring in their own drinks.
  • One Way System: for movement around the school a one way system will be in operation.
  • Opt In: If adults enroll for Face to Face classes in the school they do so in the knowledge there still daily confirmations of new cases of Covid-19 in the Community.
  • Attendance Records: Class tutors will maintain attendance records for all in school attended classes.
  • Travel Abroad: Please ensure that you are aware of the current rules/ restrictions in place if you have returned from travelling abroad and these are followed
  • Confirmed HSE Covid – 19 Close Contact: Adults SHOULD NOT attend the school for classes if they have been identified as a close contact of a person with Covid – 19 by the HSE. Please follow the HSE close contact advice and guidelines. See HSE.ie for latest information.
  • For online classes, email addresses will be shared with tutors

 

Government Guidelines: Classes may have to be moved to online or postponed or cancelled if the Government so advises in the event of a major resurgence of Covid-19.  Please check HSE.ie for the latest Covid 19 updates.
