Adult Basketball Coaching Classes
Course Description:
This introduction to Basketball coaching course gives an outline knowledge of basketball. This course is aimed at parents, sports centre staff, teachers, youth workers, players or ex-players and interested adults
Learners can expect to cover the following:
- Passing (including getting free and catching the ball)
- Shooting
- Dribbling
- Individual offence
- Individual defence
- Playing the game and simple tactics
- Introducing the game to beginners
- Basic rules
- Organising practice sessions
- Communication skills
- Teaching players the skills of passing, set shooting, lay-ups, footwork, dribbling and basic one v one and team play.
This course forms the basis of progression to level 1 Coaching Course available for members of the Basketball Community looking to move on from their intro to Coaching qualification. For more details on level 1 coaching course contact 018460949.
