Malahide Community School Adult Education Covid-19 Guidelines Autumn 2020 / Spring 2021

 

  • We will be following all guidelines as advised by NPHET and as advised by the Health Protection Centre and the HSE.
  • On each night of class, a designated Covid officer will be present. This person will ensure all necessary hygiene and other guidelines are adhered to in relation to Covid 19.
  • Reduced Class Time: the duration for nearly all classes is 90 minutes.
  • Course Duration: 8 weeks for mostly all courses
  • All bookings must be made before entering the school to start your class.
  • Phone and online booking only. We cannot accept walk in enrollment
  • Remote: a number of courses are only available via Zoom
  • Classes are available to attend face to face in the school or alternatively attend remotely via webcam 
  • Reduced Class Sizes: where face to face attendance is available, a maximum number of 8 students will be permitted in classrooms. Students are to keep 2 metres apart in classes
  • Enrolment Night: there will not be a walk in enrolment session taking place prior to the commencement of term.
  • Hand Hygiene & Sanitisation: we will provide hand sanitisation stations which adults will have easy access to.  We request that adults bring their own supply of hygiene products including hand sanitisation for your own personal use. All classrooms and facilities used during adult education classes will be sanitised before and after class.
  • No sharing of equipment allowed and a physical distance of 2 metres must be kept at all times from fellow students and tutor.
  • Face Coverings: are mandatory for personal use.
  • Class Start Times: for those attending at the school, there are separate start times: 7.30pm/7.45pm/8pm. Each course will have its own dedicated start time.
  • Health Issue: anybody with a serious underlying health issue should not attend the school for classes.  
  • Symptoms of Covid 19: any adult student or staff member who is ill or displaying symptoms of Covid-19 should not attend the school for classes.
  • Students are required to complete and sign a self – declaration form regarding their wellness for their class.
  • Teas: No tea or coffee will be available in the school.
  • One Way System: for movement around the school a one way system will be in operation.
  • Opt In: If adults enroll for Face to Face classes in the school they do so in the knowledge there still daily confirmations of new cases of Covid-19 in the Community.
  • Attendance Records: Class tutors will maintain attendance records for all in school attended classes.
  • Travel Abroad: Adults should not attend the school for classes for a period of 14 days since returning from travel abroad.
  • Confirmed Case Contact: Adults SHOULD NOT attend the school for classes if they have been in contact with a person who has been confirmed as having Covid-19.  A period of 14 days since being in contact with the confirmed case must have elapsed before re –attending class.
  • For online classes, email addresses will be shared with tutors

 

Government Guidelines: Classes may have to be postponed or cancelled if the Government so advises in the event of a major resurgence of Covid-19.  Blended classes may revert to remote only classes. Please check HSE.ie for the latest Covid 19 updates.
